Paul Newman died. And like the classic actor that he was blessed us who love the film with some of the most memorable movie characters. Over the past 50 years, some of Newman celluloid alter ego included Ben Quick ( The Long Hot Summer ), Billy the Kid ( The Left Gun ), Brick Pollitt ( Cat on a Hot Tin Roof ), And Ben Ari Cana ( Exodus ), along with Eddie Felson ( The Hustler ), HUD BANNON ( HUD ), Luke ( Cool Hand Luke ), Hank Stamper ( Sometimes a great notion ), Reggie Dunlop ( Slap Shot ), Frank Galvin ( The verdict ), John Rooney ( Road to Perdition ), and Doc Hudson ( Auto ). Classic Hollywood is coming to a close.
